Toilet Train My Evil Cat, Step 1: Decide It’s the Right Thing To Do

An on-line associate of mine remarked one night in group chat that they were toilet training their cat. I have heard of this before, but dismissed it as something one does with a young kitten or something. Something with the mind that can be shaped and formed, not a mind already set in its evil ways. I still recall this associate though, weeks later, just beaming with pride and sharing the wonderfulness of the first use of the toilet by said cat sans any training materials. At that point, I just thought it was funny to celebrate a cat’s pooping in a toilet. Now I think it might be something I should consider.
I recently moved from an apartment to a rather big house. Previously, my cat’s litterbox was tucked away in a low traffic corner with litter barriers and such that would prevent the spread of litter beyond her area. My new home however… the litter box is in my master bathroom and unfortunately, the litter is harder to contain. I did this because, the cat needed to have a home base room during the move and my bedroom/bathroom had all she needed. Now that she’s settled into the home (it’s now been a few months as of this writing), I think I’ve grown completely sick of that periodic wet foot in scattered litter feeling when coming out of the shower.
Now I’m off to do my research on said training. I have a spare/unused bathroom that will become her throne. My biggest fears are though, if all of this works, she will still have poor aiming skills and/or I won’t remember to flush that toilet regularly.
