Peppers and Future Veggies

I don’t want to miss the whole summer without growing at least one vegetable. To alleviate this dilemma, I figured I’d go with the container gardening approach. I picked up a few more ceramic pots that are rectangular in shape to maximize the growing potential. Since container gardening usually results in small plant yield, I went with some (no surprise because of the title of this post)… peppers. Jalapeño and Cayenne to be exact. Spaced out, I have twelve plants set in pairs so they can support each other. Hopefully they won’t get too crowded in there.

Since I won’t be finished with my landscaping or construction of my garden boxes until mid to late July, I wanted to know if I could plant and harvest anything before frost. Being a green horn at having a green thumb, I had no clue. I have many resources in coworkers and friends, but the question popped into my head when I was at the awesome nursery that’s in my town. Looks like there are several things I can plant and now I’m all excited.
